Privacy Policy
comet.cat has no accounts, no sign-up, and no tracking or advertising scripts. This page describes the little that is processed and, more importantly, which third parties your browser contacts when you load the site.
Who is responsible
The site is operated by an individual in the United States. For any privacy question, including a request to exercise the rights below, contact support@comet.cat.
What we do not do
- No accounts, logins, or profiles.
- No analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting scripts.
- No cookies set by us.
- We do not sell or share personal data, because we do not collect it to begin with.
Stored on your device
The site stores your light/dark theme preference in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device, and clearing site data removes it.
Wallet addresses
If you connect a wallet, the site reads your public address and token balances in order to show them and to build a swap or bridge quote. This happens in your browser. We do not store your address on a server, link it to an identity, or retain it after you disconnect.
Anything you then sign is a public blockchain transaction. Blockchains are public and permanent — that is outside our control and cannot be undone or erased.
Server logs
The site runs on a virtual server we operate. Its web server writes a standard access log — IP address, timestamp, page requested, user agent — which we keep for up to 14 days for security and troubleshooting, after which it is rotated and deleted. We do not use these logs to build profiles and we do not combine them with anything else.
Third parties your browser contacts
Loading the site causes your browser to make requests to the services below. Each receives your IP address and standard request headers as a technical necessity, and each has its own privacy policy that governs what it does with them:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — typefaces, loaded on every page.
- Reown / WalletConnect (api.web3modal.org) — the wallet connection dialog.
- Relay Protocol (api.relay.link, assets.relay.link) — swap and bridge quotes and execution.
- Robinhood Chain RPC (rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com) — reading chain state and broadcasting transactions.
- Token and chain icon CDNs (cdn.dexscreener.com, assets.coingecko.com) — images only.
- Blockscout (8crv4vmq6tiu1yqr.blockscout.com) — transaction links, only if you follow one.
Where the analytics data comes from
The charts and tables are built from a public third-party analytics dashboard, and the live market figures from a third-party market feed. Both requests are made by us on the server, on a schedule — not by your browser — so using this site does not expose you to either provider. The data concerns public blockchain activity, including wallet addresses that are already public on-chain.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. In the United States these come from state laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act; in the EU and UK they come from the GDPR, which also gives you the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. Because we hold no accounts and no personal records, in practice there is usually nothing for us to retrieve or delete — but write to support@comet.cat and we will respond.
Children
The site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly process any data relating to them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it.
